The history of meme

Do you know the history of memes? You don’t? well read on. The word meme could have come from two possible words. In french, meme means “the same” so it’s hard to tell that it came from there. In Greek, memeonumai means to imitate, so not much from that word either.

Do you know what the first meme was? Well it was actually a picture of a cat saying “I can has cheeseburger”. It became very popular and was in some newspapers. Over time, memes have gotten more popular and now are everywhere.

To make a meme is very hard, first you have to find out what the public is into at the time and write something funny about it. The tricky part to doing that is the format. You can choose a still image or video. Or you could even take a clip of some movie or show and add a funny phrase.

Memes have so much variety like once I saw this meme for science nerds about the captured asteroid. There’s also memes for funny people like the wasup brother. But there’s always the iconic memes like the rizzler and 67. In those covid years, there was always the wait what memes. In conclusion, memes have dominated the internet for a long time and they are very influential over how we behave.
