Why Farmers Aren’t Allowed to Plant their Own Seeds

Monsanto, what a terrible company. They murdered people, made people get skin cancer, killed people’s crops, controlled farmers, and they got away with it all. I know what you are thinking. What even is Monsanto? Well, Monsanto is a company that made pesticides, then made seeds that weren’t affected by their pesticides. Monsanto also had conditions that by opening a bag of their seeds, you automatically accepted Monsanto’s terms, and in those terms it said Inspection and Compliance, which means that Monsanto is allowed to go on their property at any time to “Inspect” their fields.

If you were to go back to the time where this was happening, you would see neighbours snitching on their neighbour if they didn’t use Monsanto products. You could also see some Monsanto workers coming to the fields of the people that didn’t use Monsanto products and killed them. When someone didn’t use Monsanto products and their neighbours did, you could see that near the border of the farm, all the plants were dead because of Monsanto’s pesticide, Roundup. Seeing someone that didn’t use Monsanto’s product was barely seen because over 90% of farmers in the USA used it.

In the Vietnam war, the USA made history by using 72 million gallons of Roundup on the battlefield for better visibility, this was called “Agent Orange”. Agent Orange was able to do its job at a big price. Skin cancer and acne. Roundup is made out of half 2-4D (a pesticide) and half 2-4-5T (another pesticide.) However,  when you’re making it in a lab, the temperature has to be exactly 70°C (158°F) but sometimes it rose to 71°C (159.8°F) or 72°C (161.6°F) breaking a connection between atoms and making something called dioxin (changing something).

Dioxin is a substance that gives tremendous acne and skin cancer when in contact with skin.  When Agent Orange was being sprayed, many people started getting acne and because Roundup is supposedly safe when in contact with skin, they sprayed it with soldiers in the field. When the soldiers went to get checked up, some of the soldiers had to get skin removed and that wasn’t even enough to get the acne off.

There isn’t one single letter that Monsanto sent to the American government to warn them about the dangers of dioxin, not a single record, and not a single word. That ended up being a huge mistake, because every single person fighting in the Vietnam war ended up getting acne or even skin cancer, which was almost never removed from the skin and gave serious problems.

On June 7 ,2018, a company called Bayer bought Monsanto for 66 billion dollars or $66,000,000,000 if you want it in numerical form. Bayer is a company that researches for pharmaceutical things and bought Monsanto to create a global agricultural leader.

To conclude, If you were to ask me about anything about Monsanto, I would say: Monsanto is a terrible company and will always have been in the history of the US, forever.
