At the beginning of the year, VTT found its second counsellor and new Chesed Club director, Shakaed, a VTT alumni. She is an awesome person who cares about how others feel and their opinions. She has taken Chesed Club to the next level which is amazing. She plans to bring back Earthsavers next year which was a fantastic memory and experience for the current grade six and sevens. She is a great addition to the VTT family and we love her.
Chesed Club is a club formed to help the people in the community such as the poor or the homeless. Chesed Club has had multiple fantastic and successful events like the Oil Drive during Hanukkah, Toonie Drives for Israel, the IDF, and people affected by the war in Israel. Chesed Club has also helped in the annual Beach Bash and directed parents to their classes for Parent Teacher Conferences. Those events have helped form the amazing school we have and have given VTT a great reputation.
Chesed Club has also helped and volunteered around the school. They monitored the hallways to make sure people weren’t inside during recess, cleaned tables in the lunchroom, took the grade one, two, and three lunchbins up to their corresponding classrooms, and had art tables to make cards for the police to thank them for protecting us.
Chesed Club has had some of the most fun adventures. From going into a truck, to going in the elevator which everyone wants to go in, Chesed Club has had some of the best experiences the students will never forget. Hopefully, Chesed Club will continue to strive and will be a club all the grade six and seven students will want to be in.
